Matt Tarrant (born 18 April 1987) is an Australian magician and mentalist known for his touring stage shows and as a contestant on Australian Survivor.[1]
Career
Tarrant has established his career at the world renowned Adelaide Fringe Festival, being awarded or nominated for an award each year since 2012.[2] His debut solo show in 2016 "Honestly Dishonest", received generally positive reviews.[3][additional citation(s) needed] "Deception" ran for the entire season at the Adelaide Fringe 2014 with his performing partner Vinh Giang.[4][5]
In 2016, Tarrant appeared on season 3 of Australian Survivor, finishing in fifth place.[6][7][8]
In 2017, Tarrant took his new solo show on a national tour beginning with Fringe World Festival in Perth,[9] following this he appeared at the Adelaide Fringe Festival becoming the most successful solo artist at the festival.[10]
Tarrant won the prestigious Adelaide Fringe "Pick Of the Fringe" in 2019 award for the overall best act of the Adelaide Fringe.[11]
Personal life
An Avid Port Adelaide Football Club supporter, Matt became an official celebrity ambassador for the club in 2014.[12]
