Merge with Nissan Quest
I am proposing this article be merged with Nissan Quest, since the Villager is simply a rebadged Quest sold by the Mercury division. There isn't enough unique about this vehicle to warrant it's own coverage, as most of the content in this article is redundant with what's already covered in the Nissan Quest article. It seems there is an emerging consensus that Mercury variants of vehicles are not notable enough to warrant their own entries and are getting merged into parent articles, such as Mercury Sable being de facto merged with Ford Taurus, Mercury Topaz being merged with Ford Tempo and the Mercury Mystique article being merged into the first-generation Ford Mondeo article. - Oppose - The fact that it's a rebadged Nissan model, rather than a rebadged Ford model makes it unique. I also oppose the merging of Mercury Sable with Ford Taurus. Most of the differences are cosmetic, but that's still unique enough. While we're at it, merging the Mercury Lynx with the Ford Escort (North America) as well as the Mercury Topaz with Ford Tempo were both bad ideas. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 17:23, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
- I'm the one who ultimately merged Mercury Lynx into Ford Escort (North America). The only unique content in the Mercury article was a few Lynx photos. Nobody bothered to add anything else that wasn't already explained in the Ford Escort article. To be honest, there probably wasn't much unique to add. As for the Mercury Villager, it looks like there's enough here for it to be worth keeping, plus info on the 60's wagon. --Vossanova o< 17:53, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
