Since there's already a Controversies section, do people think that Byrne's comments about transgender people rate a mention? This would be the primary source, unless it gets coverage somewhere more notable: http://www.themarysue.com/john-byrne-is-asshat-about-trans-people/

Transgender comments

Since there's already a Controversies section, do people think that Byrne's comments about transgender people rate a mention? This would be the primary source, unless it gets coverage somewhere more notable: http://www.themarysue.com/john-byrne-is-asshat-about-trans-people/

Despite being asked to provide a citation for his WP:BLP claim about a living person, User:Rcarter555 is edit-warring, refusing to discuss his issues on the talk page, and making claims in his edit-summaries that he cannot back up with citation. I have warned him on his talk page that he on the cusp of 3RR. --Tenebrae (talk) 18:19, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have now provided a citation for a piece of information that is so well known amongst John Byrne fans that it's almost like asking to provide a source that he's a male who still has the use of all his limbs. But I've done it none the less. I hope this puts an end to it.Rcarter555 (talk) 18:22, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

And in your last argument you said that it's cited that he was born in Canada, but if you actually read the article (have you?) you will see that he was born in England.Rcarter555 (talk) 18:24, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pardon my misspeaking when I was in the middle of someone's edit-warring. In any case, your reasoning is wrong: Whatever may be known to Byrne fans doesn't mean a thing to general readers, most of whom have never heard of John Byrne. Thank you for providing a cite, regardless. If you had done it in the first place, we could have avoided all this unpleasantness. --Tenebrae (talk) 18:36, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, and if you had not changed the article without a shred of any evidence of your own, none of this would have even come up. Thanks for playing.Rcarter555 (talk) 18:53, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

An article's status quo remains status quo unless the editor putting in new claims cites it. Learn how to use Wikipedia properly before editing articles — especially read the policy at biographies of living persons, which is very clear: No uncited personal claims, as you were making then edit-warring about. --Tenebrae (talk) 00:13, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

But YOU'RE the one who edited the article (changing it from American to Canadian) without any citation! I just reverted it to the status quo that it had for quite some time. And your only citation (that he was listed as a Canadian through the rest of the article) was completely false, as it correctly stated that he was born in England. So, who need to learn how to use Wikipedia?Rcarter555 (talk) 03:02, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fine. Whatever. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:11, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Glad you finally see it my way.Rcarter555 (talk) 23:43, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not what I said. --Tenebrae (talk) 13:59, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Missing content

Byrne started out at Marvel doing pencils on Iron Fist (although probably not on I.F.'s appearances on Marvel Premiere before that, though I'm not certain), but the information is absent here. If anyone has it handy and would like to add, please do so. Thetrellan (talk) 19:05, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's not missing. Read the quote at the start of the Marvel Comics section
Byrne said he broke into Marvel comics after writer Chris Claremont
...saw my [Charlton] work and began agitating for me to draw something he had written. When [artist] Pat Broderick missed a deadline on the 'Iron Fist' series in Marvel Premiere, [production manager] John Verpoorten fired him and offered the book to me. ...
The quote above was added to the article on January 8, 2013 in this edit]
(P.S.) Byrne's first work on the Iron Fist character was in Marvel Premiere #25
