The Great Wall Jinshanling Marathon is an annual marathon race held in April along the Great Wall of China in the ChengDe Shi, Beijing China. The race started in 2003 and has grown over the years to several hundred participants annually. The Jinshanling section of the Great Wall is 10.5 km long with 5 passes, 67 towers and 3 beacon towers. The initial section of the wall has been restored to original condition, but the condition of the wall deteriorates towards its natural state as it approaches Simatai. |

Aside from the main marathon, a halfmarathon, 10km run and 5km run are also held. |

The course is much tougher than traditional marathons with participants challenged by stone steps with many steep ascents and descents. |
