Other children

Klobuchar has at least one other daughter. I believe she's younger than Amy, and "Ann" comes to mind, though my memory isn't to be relied on. She's some sort of accountant, I believe.

Jaunt with Jim

Klobuchar leads an annual week-long bicycle ride through Minnesota and surrounding areas. This is known as the "Jaunt with Jim Klobuchar", and usually occurs in late June. It began as a bit of a promotional thing when Klobuchar wrote for the Star-Tribune but has continued since Klobuchar's retirement from the "Strib".

This year's trip was June 9-15 and toured the area roughly Silver Bay to Ely to Hibbing. About 140 riders attended. (When Klobuchar was writing for the Strib the group was as large as 350.)

Klobuchar also leads several other tours annually -- tours of Greece, treks in the Himalayas, etc.

Alcoholism

There is information about Jim Klobuchar, specifically his alcoholism, in his daughter's (US Senator Amy Klobuchar) [Article], that does not appear here, in Jim Klobuchar's article.

"During her upbringing, her dad was an alcoholic who frequently missed family gatherings, spent much time away due to his drinking, and on numerous occasions got in trouble with the law for DUI. Her parents divorced when Amy was 15 and in high school. Klobuchar's father initiated the divorce, calling himself another "middle-aged man with wanderlust." The divorce took a serious toll on the family, eventually causing Klobuchar's sister to drop out of high school, leave home early, and struggle with personal issues for a while. Klobuchar's relationship with her father did not fully recover until the 1990s, when he quit drinking.[8] Klobuchar's parents reconciled a few years after the divorce and remained best friends, and her father eventually regretted the impact the divorce had on the family.[9]"

It seems to me that if the encyclopedia is going to have this information in the man's daughter's Article, it should also be included in his own Article.2605:6000:6947:AB00:75A9:D270:2421:59E (talk) 06:31, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
