I am a bit confused by the use of pronouns here shown in bold. Who does she refer to?:

The main character of her debut novel “Convenience Store Woman” is a female convenience store worker who want to be normal in a society. She decided to create this character because she desired to make a main character who behave normally but is recognized as strange by other people.
