Omare Lowe (born April 20, 1978 in Seattle, Washington) is an American football player that currently plays Free Safety for the Atlanta Falcons. Lowe attended the University of Washington and currently wears #26.

High School

Lowe attended Tahoma High School in Maple Valley, WA were he lettered in basketball, track, and football. Also a part of the state championship 1,600-meter relay team at the 1997 NCAA track championships as a senior. Lowe was an option quarterback in high school... rushed for over 900 yards and 15 scores, while he only played defense in two games.

College

Recruited by the University of Washington. Red shirted the entire 1997 season, in 1998 he played in 9 games recording 10 tackles, 3 pass deflections, a forced fumble, and 1 interception. For the 1999 season Lowe was a backup corner back and recorded 20 tackles, 3 pass deflections, and an interception. Lowe's best season would be in 2000 when he started in every game as the strong side corner back and recorded 30 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 9 pass deflects. Lowe's last season as a huskies was a great one when he recorded 40 tackles , 2 interception (One for a touchdown), and 9 pass deflections.

NFL

Lowe was originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 5th round of the 2002 draft, but he would only play in one game. On September 1, 2003 he was released by the dolphins. Signed to Titans practice squad on September 3, 2003 and released September 22, 2003. Signed to New York Jets practice squad in October and signed to there active roster in November and finished the season with them. Started the 2004 season on the vikings practice squad before being signed to New England Patriots roster for the rest of the 2004 season. Tried out for Seattle Seahawks before the 2005 season began, but was cut. Signed by the Atlanta Falcons on September 4 and remained mainly as a special teams player recording 16 special team tackles (Leading the team} and 4 tackles on defense. Made first career start against Carolina in place of an injured player. Atlanta re-signed Lowe on March 13, 2006.
