I get the point. I will be more careful. I was planning on stopping anyways. Sorry about the earlier comment. I have had a few bad days. Oldag07 (talk) 21:06, 29 September 2014 (UTC)

How good is the split of Category:Texas geography stubs into reigons suggested here? I'm trying to reduce the size of Category:Texas geography stubs, and getting most of these tags moved is necessary for that. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 20:16, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

If you are willing to do the work, go for it. Oldag07 (talk) 03:40, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
The question is, is this a good split listed at Category talk:Texas geography stubs#Texas county templates? עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 03:43, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
I think so. I don't know that precedence it has with the other states. If someone is willing to put the work into sorting every page and every county go for it. Oldag07 (talk) 04:20, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
For some of the more minor counties, it might not me necessary, but again, go for it if you want to do it. Oldag07 (talk) 04:21, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
Actually, I've been working on placing the right tags on the pages for several states, including Texas. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 11:56, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Apologies

Sorry about this brash edit, I was spurred on by the wording you used in your edit summary rather than the edit you actually made, and will endeavour to avoid repeating the mistake in future. Kind regards and Happy Holidays, adamstom97 (talk) 09:21, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

What you were doing was in good faith. I appreciate all the hard work you have put into this site. Thanks. Oldag07 (talk) 15:13, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Advice on Creating Wikipedia Page

Hi Oldag07,

I wanted to ask for your help with this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Joseph_G._Sorokin. I am trying to create a page for Joseph Sorokin who created the original sound effects for the Star Trek TV show. As a Trekkie, I am always so surprised that people don't know his name. There aren't a lot of articles talking about him, but he is listed on all the soundtrack credits. Do you have any advice on how to update the sources?

I found you because you recently edited the Start Trek and I am hoping one Trekkie and help out another! Thanks for your time!

Chelsea R (talk) 18:26, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

Aghh. I have made pages with far less notability than the one you made. Other than the fact that some of your links are broken (try using something like wayback machine to fix your links. https://archive.org/web/ and WP:WBM) I like the page. I guess in the wild west days of wikipedia we really didn't do too many drafts. A decently sourced page at the beginning usually got through. Now that you seem to have people set against it I am not sure if you can get it up there. I guess would also link the memory alpha page (https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Joseph_G._Sorokin) to this one. If you can't get your work on Wikipedia, try adding your work to the memory alpha page. I am sure they would appreciate it. Oldag07 (talk) 14:21, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

History of Texas A&M page.

I am at a loss as to your objections concerning my edits to the History of Texas A&M page. You seem to think that the votes of the people of Texas in May 1915 and November 1919 to terminate A&M's status as a branch of The University of Texas constitutes "incorrect information." Nothing is further from the truth. I provided the record of the proposed Texas constitutional amendments which shows the well known results of the proposed amendments. These votes are not historical fact. Please explain how you believe the archived results of Texas elections to be "incorrect facts." Would you [prefer I point directly to the exact pages from the state government website that show the results of the individual elections, as opposed to the legislative archive? The individual vote results cam be found at these tow links. https://lrl.texas.gov/legis/billsearch/amendmentDetails.cfm?amendmentID=65&legSession=34-0&billTypedetail=HJR&billNumberDetail=34 https://lrl.texas.gov/legis/billsearch/amendmentDetails.cfm?amendmentID=76&legSession=36-0&billTypedetail=HJR&billNumberDetail=29Randolph Duke (talk) 21:43, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

You assertion that the state legislature separated the University of Texas in 1875 is immaterial. The state constitution of 1876 established A&M as a branch of the university. White your assertion the legislature separated the two institutions is both uncited and untrue, even it if were true, it would be immateruial as it would have been made moot by the Art 7, Sec 13 of the 1876 Constitution. Randolph Duke (talk) 21:48, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

They are separate universities and separate university systems. It is cited on the Texas A&M page. https://web.archive.org/web/20110320074711/http://www.tamus.edu/regents/history/ Your untraditional interpretation of the State constitution seems to be a huge violation of WP:ORIGINAL.
