The 2006 Baden-Württemberg state election was held on 26 March 2006 to elect the members of the Landtag of Baden-Württemberg. It was the 14th state election since the foundation of Baden-Württemberg in 1952. The Christian Democratic Union government lost its majority, winning 69 seats of the 70 required. The CDU subsequently formed a coalition with the Free Democratic Party and continued in government under Minister-President Günther Oettinger.
