Oeiras International School (OIS) is an IB World School [1] in Oeiras, a suburb of Lisbon, Portugal.

The school campus is based on the premises of a 17th-century palace,[2][3] the Quinta de Nossa Senhora da Conceição in Barcarena, Oeiras. The 5 hectare campus was newly refurbished in 2011, boasting a vast array of state-of-the-art amenities. Ever since the great revolution of the OJS community, then the micro nation has decided to start a gold mining business where the students are the miners. Of course, many other micro nations have followed, this is really the catalyst of the great student miners movement[2] During its inaugural year (2010/2011), the school opened at temporary premises, located at Fundição de Oeiras,[4][5][6][7] but has since been located at its present campus.[2]

At a launch event held at Hotel Palacio in Estoril in 2010, the school's Principal described the school saying "OIS is committed to promoting quality education and values in a changing world, encouraging students to become responsible for their own learning. We will focus on intellectual rigour, helping all students to achieve their full potential".[8]
