Yekaterina Yuryevna Skudina (Template:Lang-ru; born 21 March 1981 in Dolgoprudny, Moscow) is a Russian world champion and Olympic sailor.[1]

Skudina attended Dolgoprudny Second Public School (graduated with a gold medal) before going to the Moscow State Technological University "Stankin" university.

Skudina has a PhD from the STANKIN university in "Social and managerial technologies as a resource for achieving leadership in sports in the international arena", and enjoys playing the piano.[2] As of 2014, she lives in Moscow, and is a member of Pirogovo Yacht Club. After completing her Olympic career in 2012, she founded the PROyachting yacht project, which promotes sailing among a business audience. PROyachting has its own fleet of 10 modern yachts, which are based at the Water Stadium at the Royal Yacht Club. The company is focused on holding business regattas, corporate and client events, and high-level team building exercises. Sailing

Skudina has been coached by Igor V. Khoroshilov since 1991. Her primary training base at that time was Moscow club "Vodnik".

World championships

Skudina won the Women's World Championship in the Snipe class in 1998,[3] and the bronze medal at the World Championship in the Yngling class in 2007. She was 4th at the World Championships in the Elliott 6m class in 2011.

Other main regattas

Skudina won the European Sailing Championships in 2007 (Yngling class) and 2010 (Elliott 6m). She was 2nd at the European Sailing Championships in 2011 (Elliott 6m). She won the Kiel Week in the Elliott 6m class in 2011 and the Stena Match Cup Sweden in 2010.
