On Cypris patent owners can claim their granted patents & convert them into listings. A patent listing is an offering, usually for sale or license, made by the patent owner to the public. In the event of a transaction the rights to use the intellectual property is either permanently or temporarily transferred to the buyer or licensee. |

The Patent market has notoriously shown poor commercialization rates, leading to many patents to be sold to assertion entities (sometimes referred to as [[Patent troll|patent trolls)]], which can dilute the value of a patent & lead to use to in litigation rather than commercialization. |
