Roger Stuart Deakin (born in February 11, 1943 in Watford, Hertfordshire, died August 19, 2006 in Mellis, Suffolk) was a writer, documentary-maker and environmentalist.
Roger Deakin was a founder director of the arts/environmental charity Common Ground (charity) in 1982.
In 1999 his acclaimed book 'Waterlog' was published by Chatto and Windus in the UK. It describes his experiences of 'wild swimming', swimming in Britain's rivers and lakes and is both a shrewd and potent campaigning work and poetic odyssey.
