Charmaine Fong (方皓玟) is a Hong Kong actress and Cantonese singer.

Discography

Charmaine Fong released a new song "Explicit Comment (人話)" in which both the songwriter and lyrics composer. [1] The lyrics of this song expressed her stance toward the current anti-government protests explicitly and the music video of the song was also made up of scenes of police brutality. Video extracts of the social movements were also portrayed in the MV. Hence, the song became a big hit once it was released, the number of views exceeded 400 thousands on the second day of release.[2] As it was rare for public figures to voice out their stance and opinions on political issues, citizens that support the social movement praised Fong as a true singer in Hong Kong. At the same time, there were also a lot of netizens who disagree with the act of protestors commenting hate speeches under her MV claiming that she was a rioter and trying to promote Hong Kong independence.[3]
