Rollback granted

Hi TheImaCow. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account until 2020-05-25. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 07:10, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your revert here, and warning me about reverting clearly disruptive content is disruptive. You revert back in 3 newlines and the following piece of prose: "All of the above info is false, sleeper agents are lazy fbi and cia agents who fall asleep on the job, thus becoming a "sleeper" agent.". I expect a retraction and apology.Pikavoom (talk) 11:14, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I have no idea how that happened. I probably made a mistake and thought you wrote the garbage down. Well. And of course I deleted the warning from your side. TheImaCow (talk) 13:45, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I make mistakes too, easy to get mixed up between right and left late at night. Pikavoom (talk) 05:12, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not call edits vandalism simply because you disagree with them, and please provide an edit summary when reverting. I'm standardizing the infoboxes across presidential elections for clarity based on the more recent convention. The edit I made to 1852 United States presidential election does not differ significantly from the version you reverted to; this is a content dispute, not vandalism. I've also responded to your message on my talk page. In the spirit of Wikipedia:Most people who disagree with you on content are not vandals, I don't consider your edit to be vandalism either, but encourage you to provide an explanation for your changes. Thanks. Tartan357 (talk) 05:53, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm pretty sure that I just looked wrong and read "butt" instead of "buff" and didn't look at the rest. So of course you're right. Now you can of course remove the warning you received. TheImaCow (talk) 06:10, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Tartan357 (talk) 10:00, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Leslie Combs II

Dear Thelma: Leslie Combs II was my father's first cousin, so I am very familiar with his life and circumstances. If you want to remove what I wrote, I understand. I cannot verify what I wrote. It is family history. How can I verify that Uncle Daniel committed suicide? I guess there must be an old newspaper article from 1915. I haven't seen it. Leslie worked for my grandfather in Guatemala for a time. He worked for my grandfather, Herbert Franz Schlubach, who incidentally was married to Leslie's aunt, Annette Combs Schlubach (1880-1972). She was the daughter of Hon. Leslie Combs, US Minister to Guatemala. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KYgentleman (talkcontribs) 17:43, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

hmm, ok. I restored the removed content for now, but added [citation needed] marks. TheImaCow (talk) 17:51, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting my recent edit

I noticed you recently deleted a portion of my edit, however, I'm not entirely sure what that particular piece of information was an issue as I have been writing a large amount of similar information all along, and with the topic that it, also makes it difficult to know ahead of time what exactly is allowed to be written and what is not. I would like to know your own understanding of the information I was writing about too, do you have knowledge about the page I am editing? I am attempting to build the page. and I'm relying mostly on my own knowledge and memory of the subject, which I know off by heart. None of it is false information. I have carefully written every bit of it so far. I would like if you could restore my edit, and perhaps consider putting a "citation required" notice next to any future edits that are questionable if its simply a case of a citation required. I only began Wikipedia editing this week, and this is my third warning, but its difficult to continue editing when I am unsure what will be allowed, the edits are all largely similar in their information. I still have a considerable amount to write, so I do not want to break any rules.THUNDERSKULL99 (talk) 18:36, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@THUNDERSKULL99: You probably already noticed, I have now (or better said 8 hours ago or so) restored the content I deleted. It looks like you already got the fourth warning, so I can't do much about it. You would then have to discuss this (that the content that was deleted again will be restored (you can find it here, by the way) and that warnings 3 + 4 gets removed) with Materialscientist. TheImaCow (talk) 04:22, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@THUNDERSKULL99: You can also describe your problem on your talk page with the Help Me-template. TheImaCow (talk) 06:09, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Anon IP warnings

Anonymous IPs are allowed to remove warnings from their user talk pages, just like registered users are. Stop edit-warring with him, he's simply being disruptive and angling for a block. Elizium23 (talk) 03:52, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, good to know, but why can the IPs do that? Isn't there a risk that they will always get 1-2 warnings and then remove them in time so that they don't get exposed? Well. I have just reported the one. TheImaCow (talk) 03:55, 27 April 2020 (UTC).[reply]
Yes, but it's the same risk as with a registered user. That's why best practice as a vandalism fighter is to slog through page history on their talk page to see if previous warnings have been erased.
Erasing your talk page is considered by us to be a signal that you've read and acknowledge receipt of the talk messages, so it's actually useful in a dispute if the user has erased messages: "well, you must have seen them because you acted to erase them here and here..." Elizium23 (talk) 04:10, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, with this edit you blanked a page without adequate explanation and added {{Db-author}} to a page of which you were not the author. The article is badly formatted and notability is not easy to ascertain but this is not the way to proceed. Draftifying may be a better option. Eagleash (talk) 05:51, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Eagleash: Sorry, i havent any Idea what happened there. May i was confused with this edit? Or i misinterpreted this edit? I dont know. TheImaCow (talk) 05:59, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No worries; looks as if the creator blanked it (maybe in error, who knows!?) and then reinstated it. I have draftified it and suggested they sort it out before re-submitting. Cheers. Eagleash (talk) 06:02, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blanking of Won-il (born 1967)

Hello TheImaCow,

I was just wondering why you decided to revert the edit that blanked all the content from Won-il (born 1967) (now moved to draftspace at Draft:Won-il (born 1967). The person who blanked the page was the page creator, not some random vandal; when the page creator blanks their own article that nobody else has substantially edited, this usually means that they would like it deleted, so it can be nominated for speedy deletion using {{db-g7}}.

Thank you, Passengerpigeon (talk) 06:54, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker)@Passengerpigeon: The page was blanked by the creator who then reinstated it. Thelma then undid the reinstatement and added 'db-author' (G7). The creator restored it again and it is now in draftspace: See section above. Cheers. Eagleash (talk) 07:01, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
