Tallis
I did not find any at Commons which I liked. I mean, the one you added isn't horrible but the production quality is not great and tuning is off. I sing with a number of choirs, next week I'm performing at Exeter with the English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble, I do feel strongly about this. But the answer is to buy some sound recording gear and learn how to make better ones :-) Guy (help!) 17:11, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
- That was quick! I agree the quality of the DWSchorale recroding was poor. The Coro Santa Pazienza recording I inserted may not be exactly the Tallis Scholars, but I'd consider it acceptable for now. It would be lovely to have really high quality choral works, but unfortunately this is the price we pay for being limited to Creative Commons media content! If you do find a better free recording, do please replace it. I'm happy to look around for something better. I think that it's important for the Thomas Tallis article to carry some exemplary works by Tallis, even if we can't quite find exemplary performers! Cnbrb (talk) 17:18, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
- Cnbrb, yes, it will do. My standards are high (I prefer the Hilliard Ensemble in fact but am biased because I was at the same school as Rogers Covey-Crump and know Sarah Tennant-Flowers, their former manager). Guy (help!) 17:29, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
- Mine too, but sadly I find I have to lower them a bit to deal with Wikipedia! Cnbrb (talk) 17:37, 22 November 2019 (UTC)

Damon Runyon's short story "Dancing Dan's Christmas" is a fun read if you have the time. Right from the start it extols the virtues of the hot Tom and Jerry
No matter what concoction is your favorite to imbibe during this festive season I would like to toast you with it and to thank you for all your work here at the 'pedia this past year. Best wishes for your 2020 as well C. MarnetteD|Talk 04:16, 19 December 2019 (UTC) |
