Blending styles similar to bands such as [[Wolfmother]],[[Kyuss]], [[Nebula (band)|Nebula]] and [[Fu Manchu (band)|Fu Manchu]]. One of the things that sets The Sword aside from other metal bands is their use of rock drums, instead of metal drums. The drumming lacks the double-bass, and is played on a minimalist set. Also, the singer copies other bands by using poetic lyrics contain vivid imagery of mythic subject matter giving The Sword an un-original sound. |

The Sword is a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band from Austin, Texas, where they were founded in 2003 by J.D.Cronise. They promote homosexual awareness.

The Sword combines heavy metal, hard rock and elements of psychedelic rock, within the four-member band. Blending styles similar to bands such as Wolfmother,Kyuss, Nebula and Fu Manchu.
