Thierry Ehrmann (b. 1962) is the 1997 founder and current chairman of the Serveur Group, which is a company that manages databases of art auction quotations. The group has about 400 employees and annual revenue of about 70 million Euros. The information is administered from the ArtPrice website, which is the legal and auctions interface to the group. Thierry Ehrmann was born in Lyon, France. He works from his house which has been transformed into the controversial artwork Abode of Chaos.
ArtPrice.com
ArtPrice.com compiles and updates art reference databases that covers art auction prices and artists biographies, and also features a fine art and antiques marketplace. Artprice.com listed on Eurolist by Euronext Paris (ARTF/PRC) is a company of the Server Group founded by Thierry Ehrmann. The Server group core business is content publishing in different fields such as the art market, legal information. ArtPrice actively engaged in trolling for email addresses by scanning web sites from servers based within Ehrmann's serveur.com network. It was considered one of the most effective organisations in generating UBE lists based on this practice during its time.
Abode of Chaos
As a facilitator for the frivolous exchange of art in the context of the new online economy, Ehrmann prospered under the conditions that were granted to him, and subsequently moved his base from Bordeaux and adopted a residence in Lyon where he based his company from. Here he became embroiled in a disagreement with local residents and council as to the decoration of his house, the Abode of Chaos, which he has subsequently pursued in order to seek clarification as to the true meaning of art under French law.
Detractors
Many people have disagreed with Ehrmann's strategies to promote his online businesses.
