On 26 June 2020, three people were stabbed to death in the Park Inn Hotel in Glasgow, Scotland.[2] It came six days after the 2020 Forbury Gardens stabbings.

BBC News reported that "three people are believed to have been stabbed to death in a stairwell to a hotel in Glasgow city centre" It was also reported that a suspect was shot dead by police, and one police officer was injured.[2] Police Scotland that a male suspect had been shot dead by an armed police officer.[3]

Location

The Park Inn Hotel in Glasgow is operated by Radisson Hotels, an American international hotel chain.[4] At the time of the attack, the hotel had been closed to booked guests due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and had instead been reported to be hosting asylum seekers.[5][6]

Reactions

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon tweeted that her "thoughts are with everyone involved". She requested that the public stay away from the area and that they avoid sharing unconfirmed information.[7]
