Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Padmé Amidala—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 10:52, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Palpatine. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 10:59, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Darth Vader, you may be blocked from editing. Materialscientist (talk) 11:14, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Kmax12649 -- I looked at your recent contributions, and it looks like you have an interest in Star Wars. That's a very popular topic to contribute to on Wikipedia, and there's a whole community of folks who have worked on style guides and goals over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Star Wars. One of the things this group has spent years discussing and reaching consensus on is whether to identify Palpatine as "Palpatine" or "Sidious." The editor who reverted your changes was restoring the name that the community reached consensus on a while ago. If you're interested in asking questions or even encouraging the group to change its mind about that consensus, you can do so at the Star Wars Wikiproject's talk page.

Unless I'm missing some bigger picture, I disagree with the warning labels above calling your edits vandalism - it looks like you're trying to make positive contributions and, just like when I was a new editor 15 years ago, still need to learn the ropes. I'm going to ask the administrator who blocked you to consider lifting that block. What I'd encourage you to do is slow down, take a look at the wikiproject page, and also look at some of the excellent Star Wars-related articles we have (like Jabba_the_Hutt, Star_Wars:_Rogue_Squadron, and The_Mandalorian_(Star_Wars_character)) to see the kind of quality we're trying to create for the entire project. Please keep an eye on your talk page (i.e. this page) to watch for messages from other editors offering feedback or support, and also the talk pages of any articles you edit -- an article talk page is usually a good starting point to get feedback on any ideas you have for big changes, and it's also another place where some editors might leave you feedback. Happy editing! --EEMIV (talk) 14:24, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
