Ojos azules is a traditional taquira also played as huayno song of the Andean Altiplano region, authored by the famous Bolivian composer Gilberto Rojas Enriquez in 1947. This song was also wrongly attributed to a Peruvian composer, Manuel Casazola Huancco, but there is no proof of it. Rojas Enriquez composed many songs with a style very palpable in Ojos Azules.

In the SADAIC (Argentine Society of Composers and Authors), Ojos Azules was listed in 1951 as song number #1635196, by author Gilbert Rojas Enriquez.

In the past 40 years, Ojos Azules has been interpreted by several Bolivian, Peruvian, Chilean, and Argentinian groups. Most groups had the wrong information about its composer, only Mercedes Sosa knew about Gilberto Rojas.
