Hanan Tarik (Amharic: ሃናን ታሪክ; known by alternative surnames Tarik, Tariq or Tarq; born June 30, 1994) is an Ethiopian actress and former beauty pageant noted in various films and dramas. She first gained attention in the 2015 TV drama Wolafen, where she played as a role of Roza until 2017. Her renown in films emerged in the fall of 2017. A contemporary and the most awarded actress, Hanan has been a progressive public image of the country.
Early life and career
Hanan Tarik was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to a Yemeni father and an Ethiopian mother. She won a modeling competition in high school and did small on screen work portraying herself as Arab. This work led to her to being noticed by director Ermias Tadesse and later cast in her first film.[1] Her debut film Astaraki was release in 2015, Hanan takes a part of Muna. In the same year, she starred to the 2015 TV drama series Wolafen, being her first debut in television programs. The series aired on EBS TV on September 17, 2015, as she has a role of Roza. After some recognition with this series, she began acting in various films; Yewededu Semon (2015), Yefikir Kal, playing the role of Sara[2], Lene Kalesh (2017), as a role of Haymanot – the opposite character of Abraham Belayneh, Des Sil (2017) and Arif Aychekulem (2018). Raised by her grandmother, she has credited her for influencing her love of film.
