The Birch Run Expo Center was the home of one of Michigan's biggest hardcore/metal/punk festivals: Dirt Fest in 2002 and from 2004-2006. Taking place in August, Dirtfest is the premier event for Michigan bands. The 2006 Dirt Fest was held on Saturday, August 19th and the headlining acts were Mae, Silverstein, Black Dalhia Murder, and Everytime I Die. Dirtfest was founded by Kurt Gust in 1997 and taken over by Matt Dalton in 1999. |
