German Efromovith, the owner of Avianca and OceanAir will sign ageement of leasing for 10 Boeing 787 and will be the first brazilian company to fly the Dreamliners. And also will add 5 Airbus 330 and 30 Airbus 320 to its fleet in a contract of US$ 2,5 Billions. The delivery will start in 2010. With the fleet growth, Efromovith intend to have 15% of brazilian air market in the next decade including routes to Mexico, Colombia, Africa and EUA. (Ref: Exame Magazine,18/Dec/2006).

OceanAir is an airline based at Guarulhos International Airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It is a subsidiary airline of Avianca.

The company

The company's main objective is to operate in the market of regional flights, connecting several capitals to the main production center in the countryside and along the Brazilian coast.

OceanAir Airlines is currently Brazilian number one regional airline operating to more than 34 cities in 14 Brazilian States, covering the southeast, south, mid – west and northeast regions, providing both passengers and cargo transportation. Most members of the public served by the company are executives from different economic sectors, such as the oil industry (in the Campos Basin, in Rio de Janeiro), the agricultural industry ( Vale do São Francisco, Bahia ) and agrobusiness (Cascavel /PR, Ribeirão Preto /SP, Chapecó and Joinville/SC).

Created in 1998 as an air taxi company to render services for oil companies in Campos Basin (RJ), OceanAir began to operate as an Air Transportation Company in 2002, between the airports of Guarulhos (SP), Santos Dumont (RJ), Macaé (RJ) and Campos (RJ).

In 2004 Sinergy Group bought Avianca, and now Ocean Air feeds Avianca´s flight in GRU and vice-versa, a wide partnership between the airlines is already in place. A joint venture formed by OceanAir (49%) and Fondo de Inversiones Sustentables (51%) create a new Peruvian airline called Wayraperú and OceanAir bought VIP Ecuador in 2004. These 4 airlines make up Synergy Aerospace, and coordination of schedules to feed the Avianca network is taking place right now, they will soon all be members of the AviancaPlus FF programme.

OceanAir intends to start international operations soon with 757 or 767 aircraft, or both.
