Joy Kumar Mukherjee (born 21 June, 1987) is an Indian Bengali film and television actor. He received best debutante and rising star of the year awards for his films Warrant, Target: The Final Mission, Teen Murti, Shooter, and Hangover. In 2011, he acted in Mone Pore Ajo Sei Din with Sayantika Banerjee.[1] His 2012 film Astra was the most commercially successful movie in his career, following the success of Target in 2010. He appeared in a television series and received the Tele Academy award for best actor from Shree Mamata Banerjee for Chokher Tara Tui on Star Jalsha.[2]
In 2019, Mukherjee appeared on the Bengali television channel Sun Bangla in the show Jiyon Kathi.[3][4][5] In October 2019, he was featured on a television show for Sun TV network named Jiyonkathi. His comeback ended when he was removed from the show over behavioral issues with his co-star and directorial team. It is said that Mukherjee was asked to apologize in front of the forum office for his actions, but he chose to be banned from the artist forum, instead.[6]
