Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level
Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here |

Current requests for increase in protection level
Place requests for new or upgrading of article protection, upload protection, or create protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – vandalism. Joeykai (talk) 21:51, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
Temporary pending changes: Persistent disruptive editing – Previous edit-warring by a blocked/globally locked editor now continued by IPs. — MarkH21talk 22:06, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Horse just won the race, the newbies and IPs are making junk edits. Montanabw(talk) 22:18, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism has been occurring on this page by various IP editors and guests, including unflattering edits of Assemblyman Garbarino's headshot. Short-term temporary semi-protection up and through the United States election on November 3rd would help stop these troll edits from occurring. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Random kid23 (talk • contribs) 23:38, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – clear, ongoing edit war. Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 00:36, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – IP range repeatedly inserting unsourced content. DonIago (talk) 01:55, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Indefinite full protection: Persistent vandalism – High level of vandalism going on in the article, as soon as the protection expired on 16 september vandalism restarted in the article. I don't know if full protection would be necessary or EC protection would be enough, but the article seriously need an immediate protection. Drat8sub (talk) 02:20, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent recreation of uncited stub. Onel5969 TT me 02:20, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing by a few IP addresses. The page was semi-protected before but the vandalism continued after protection expired. Swirlyloop (talk) 02:46, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent blanking for controversies section by new registered and ip users. Also replacing commons image w/ unlicensed image. Emperork (talk) 04:16, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

full protection: Excessive vandalism — Preceding unsigned comment added by Randomperson7893457 (talk • contribs) 09:59, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- Declined – No changes to the current protection level are required at this point in time. @Randomperson7893457: Note that WP:VANDALISM has a specific definition. This does not meet it and saying another user's good faith edits are vandalism is in itself a personal attack. This page (and Taylor Swift) are the subject of edit warring for which several users are now blocked. Woody (talk) 12:09, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Frequently vandalised in the past 3 months since the club was renamed – women's football team that is now connected to a club with a very large following. Edits mainly consist of deleting the history of the predecessor club (legally the same entity), as its history was slightly complicated. They're playing their first game as Real Madrid Femenino today, so the unhelpful edits will probably intensify. Some other anon users have contributed well-sourced info that has made it into a decent article. – Demokra (talk) 12:18, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. — Newslinger talk 12:19, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – vandalism. Joeykai (talk) 19:13, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Indefinite semi-protection: Disruptive edits from IPs that have persisted for several years. The last time I listed this article here, the protection was set to expire in January 2021. Not sure what happened there. Sure would be nice if the article was protected for a couple years at least. ili (talk) 19:25, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: Article was EC-protected to prevent recreation. Per this edit summary, the protection can be lifted now so more editors can work on it. Some1 (talk) 22:27, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
Unprotection: I am ready to accept an AfC draft at Draft:Jersey Devil Coaster, now that it has reliable sources and seems quite notable. Eternal Shadow Talk 17:59, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
Current requests for edits to a protected page
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Genocide Watch states that: „A genocide of the Palestinian people by Israel is underway in Gaza. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister General Yoav Gallant have demonstrated their intent to destroy a substantial portion of the civilian population of Gaza. Israel is committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide in Gaza. It is also committing crimes against humanity against Palestinians in the West Bank.” See https://www.genocidewatch.com/single-post/genocide-emergency-gaza-and-the-west-bank-2024 This information should be added to first paragraph of Gaza_genocide#NGOs_and_intergovernmental_organisations Jakub Onderka (talk) 21:59, 3 January 2025 (UTC) Create a level 3 header with a link to the article in question, then a {{pagelinks}} template and then the reason.
