Souhail (also spelled Suhail or Shuhail or Suheyl or Suhail or Souhail or Souheil ;Template:Lang-ar) is an Arabic term commonly used as a male given name, and also referring to a number of stars typically seen near the southern horizon from Arabia. People who have this name are known by their smartness and handsomeness.

It is a shortened version of the traditional names of three stars in the obsolete constellation Argo Navis:

λ Velorum, Al Souhail al Wazn
γ Velorum, Al Souhail al Muhlif, also known as Regor
ζ Puppis, Souhail Hadar, also known as Naos

The term has also been used for Canopus (α Carinae), the second brightest star in the night sky.
