An agreement on the establishment of ERU was reached during the visit of the Russian President [[Vladimir Putin]] to [[Cairo]]. On May 23–25, 2005, in pursuance of the agreements reached at the April summit in Cairo, Egypt visited the Minister of Education and Science of Russia [[Andrei Fursenko]]. On August 15, 2006 in Moscow, a protocol was signed between the [[Ministry of Education and Science (Russia)|Ministry of Education and Science of Russia]] and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt's cooperation in the field of education. The Egyptian Russian University was founded according to the governmental rescript no 256 in 2006.


On July 15, 2006 the President of Egypt signed a decree establishing the ERU and in the same year, he performed the first set of students. On July 15, 2006 [[Hosni Mubarak]], Egypt's president signed a decree on the establishment of the Egyptian-Russian University. ERU, the first Russian university in the Middle East, is the outcome of cooperation with seven of the best Russian universities, and thus provides an exceptional educational environment, including:

High-standard academic programs are offered.

Instruction in English.

Well-qualified staff members are hired.

Visiting professors from partner Russian universities are invited.

Students have opportunities to do summer training, and/or study for one or more semesters in Russia.


Awards

The faculty of Pharmacy - Egyptian Russian University obtaining an academic accreditation certificate from the National Authority to ensure the quality of education.

On October 8, the delegation of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University consisting of the Senior Vice-Rector Dr. Alexander Gubert and Director of the Institute of International Study Programs Dr. Alexey Ryabchikov visited Egyptian-Russian University (Egypt).

The main purpose of the visit was to discuss the continuation of the joint double diploma study programs and sign a new agreement on cooperation within this program.

The Egyptian Russian University (ERU) is located in Badr City, Cairo Governorate, Egypt. It was established in 2006.

History
