    Shortcuts

    Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). Be clear as to which namespace is intended, when requesting a refund of a deleted article.

    This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    I recently wrote an article about a locally about a local company that has been making headlines in my country recently. I am an independent journalist from Nigeria, I usually write articles related to the tech, financial and real estate and crypto currency sectors and write for Wikipedia as a hobby. The company in question about which I wrote is named Landwey, it is a well known Nigerian company and its CEO already has a wikipedia page. They're playing quite a big role in the development of real estate in Lagos, the economic capital of Nigeria. Recently my article has been deleted under the mention of U5. I find this quite offensive and slightly disrespectful as I am often praised by my readerbase for writing unbiased articles even about controversial topics such as cryptocurrency. By reading the article carefully,one can easily see that the article is unbiased and factually accurate, all of what is written in the article is backed by the various reputable sources placed in the reference section and that I put great effort into making the article neutral. However, I believe that my article has been deleted by mistake as it has been deleted under U-11 before I even posted it as it was still saved as a draft and I therefore think that it should be restored. If however, you can find at least one legitimately biased sentence or paragraph, I will make sure to adjust it so as to make it more neutral.     @Kha Erl: given the reason for deletion you'll have to contact the deleting admin (User:Fastily) or use WP:DRV. The reason given for the deletion was WP:CSD#U5, which indicates misuse of Wikipedia as a web host. (There is no criterion U11.) Hut 8.5 18:36, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    @Hut 8.5: I have contacted the administrator who has removed my post but he totally ignored my request. Indeed the initial removal was based on U-11 but was then later changed by Fastily under U-5 which my post can definitely cannot be removed under as it is simply irrelevant to my case. Regarding the administrator however, I contacted him lastly on the 19th of November being polite and assuming good faith. Since the 19th of November up until today, he never replied to my messages even though he replied to every single message that was sent to him in the meantime (from the 19th to the 25th of November), he usually replied to every user on the same day (within a few hours). I do not know due to which motives he has been ignoring me, but I can clearly see that he treated me as a second class wikipedia user and I find this unfair. Either way, I would want someone to fairly analyze the page that I have written, as I am saying again, the page can definitely not be biased and if there are any inaccuracies that are present on the page, in that case, let's make the improvements together.Regards,Kha Erl (talk)
    This is disingenuous and a blatant misrepresentation of the situation. This individual has baselessly accused me of racism and bigotry not once, but twice, so I have declined to provide them with any further assistance. I also strongly suspect we have a case of WP:UPE on our hands, but I haven't had sufficient time to complete any meaningful due diligence on the matter.     Look, @Hut 8.5:, you can clearly see that the arguments Fastily is using are emotional and do not make logical sense, why would I baselessly accuse an administrator of racism for no reason and no proof if I wanted him to restore a page. Wouldn't that be a senseless approach ? It would be as senseless as urinating in the food you are about to eat.If I am convinced of racism from Fastily's side to such an extent, there must be legitimate reasons behind my actions, my claims are indeed not baseless and I will illustrate why.
    @Hut 8.5:, this topic is indeed controversial and does require unbiased arbitration but not on basis of the content that I wrote but rather because of Fastily's inappropriate behavior, regarding the content, plz check the content again and lmk your thoughts on the topic. @hut8.5, can you start such an arbitration process to investigate the situation further and arbitrate this issue ? @Fastily, You are claiming that I have reported the situation in a dishonest way, plz find at least one lie in my report that does not correspond to reality ?
    In order to be more exact, I will redescribe the situation in more detail, all instances of my desription can be found and proven on wikipedia: I have contacted Fastily regarding the deletion of the draft of the page I have edited and described the situation in the same way that I have described it to you. I contacted Fastily in the most respectful way refering to him as "Dear colleague" but I never got a reply back, I waited patiently for the first days expecting good faith, I even edited the message to pin him so that he sees my comment but still he continued ignoring me. In the meantime, during that week, Fastily has received multiple inquiries which have been much more intricate than mine and I was surprised and quite saddened to see that he swiflty replied to those whilst continuing to ignore me. Upon further investigation, it was clearly appearing that the nature and background of the participants was different, I was the only inquirer from Africa and the only black person there. There were no other factors that differentiated me in any way from other inquirers that would justify ignoring my requests, I even pingged Fastily to make sure he seems the message. Honestly I found this shameful, it reminds me of the Apartheid period in South Africa when black south africans had to wait 2 to 3 times longer to receive medical treatment over white south africans despite there being enough infrastructure to take care of all patients equally.
    I have only received one reply from Fastily after having confronted him for racist practices by trying to involve a third party, he replied in a rude manner telling me to not even write on his talk page ever again. He was probably happy to have found a reason to reject me, after all, how else could he prevent africans from writting on his talk page. I am sure that had I not tried to confront him, he would've never answered me in the first place.
    Of course fastily could claim not to be racist, which is of course possible and just as possible but unlikely, like a lightning striking your house tomorrow morning, but even in the very unlikely and improbable event, in which Fastily did not treat me as a second class wikipedia user based on racial or ethnical prejudices, but rather for other reasons, still it is clear evidence of a second class treatment, an unfair and partial treatment.
    Nobody deserves to be treated unfairly based on any reasons, be it racial, ethnical, religious, ideological or political.
    Again, there is no need to take my word for it, all the evidence is on wikipedia.
    In such a context, I believe that 2 investigations to be held: 1st over bias of the article and second over racist behavior of fastily
    Regarding the landwey article that I have written, @Hut8.5, plz, let's start an investigation, again, I am only wishing for truth to be uncovered, Fastily tried to prevent my article from being approved but I want truth to be uncovered. Instead of talking about it, let's actually take a look at the article and see. I have tried my best to write the article in the most unbiased manner, I hope that I have succeded and I definitely do not see any controvery about this article but if any wikipedia user finds a flaw in it then plz help me correct and improve it but not trying to silence. Just take a look yourselves and let me know your thoughts.

    Hello, I understand what you mean, I can clearly see that you are trying to actually cooperate and help me publish and improve the article rather than simply silence and ignore someone, this is truly a valuable trait.
    Regarding "leading" and "creates opportunities", honestly if Landwey weren't leading the industry in any way, they wouldn't be making headlines in Nigeria and I wouldn't be writing about them, nobody is interested in writing wikipedia articles about companies at the bottom of their field. Regarding "creates opportunities", again, any successful company must create some sort of opportunity to be succesfull, be it facebook, google, fiverr or whatever, if they weren't creating value and opportunities for people or companies, they wouldn't gain any significant share of market or get anywhere really. For these 2 words, removing them would make the article inaccurate or even irrelevant which we need to avoid at all cost when building an encyclopedia as our primary goal is to make it accurate.
    The other keywords such as "redefining the ... narrative", "infusion of", "boasts of", "gain from the wealth of experience" and "nested in the heart" were used in the articles and pages which are reliable sources, I mean we are talking about theguardian.ng, the official website of the nigerian government (the investment promotion commission) among others. Would it really make sense to think that the guardian or the Nigerian government are paid actors ? I mean I understand that our country has corruption problems but not to that extent.
    These words are directly backed up by those sources, however, I do agree, at least personally, that these terms can be modified and improved and things can be said in a more neutral and less exuberant way.
    Regarding the "quality infrastructure for all", I was directly quoting the CEO of the company saying that the company was engaging in charity by building and providing infrastructure for the poor of Nigeria.I have not been a witness of what he is doing in person but this is what reputable news outlets in Nigeria have quoted him saying and It was explecit quoting of his words but if you think that there are any improvements to be made on that matter or that anyone wants to suggest, then feel free to let me know, or even better, apply them right away in the article.
    Either way, when the article got deleted, I was still in the process of editing it, I was still going to make improvements.
    Moreover, the improvements that could have been made to the article do not excuse the behavior of the who user who, after deleting the post,ignored all my relevant inquiries for an entire week while swiftly answering every single user's request, many of them being much more intricate than mine based on racist or ethnical prejudices and would've likely continued ignoring me had I not confronted him on his actions. (c.f, previous messages in this conversation where I outlined everything in detail) and again, there is no need to take my word for it, all of the exchanges are still present on wikipedia.
    Regarding the aforementioned issues, it is needed to fix them, I can make the adjustments myself and this is not an issue, however because the article was speed-deleted while I was still editing it, I am currently unable to access the draft, it is needed to solved the issue as I am unable to even to take a look at it, so I cannot even see what I wrote previously at this point which is problematic. Plz restore the draft so I can finish editing the article and apply the required modifications and improvements that we have discussed. Of course, if you or someone else wishes to contribute, I will happily take the help, it is always easier and better to advance together rather than alone.

    • @JWilz12345: the image was also missing source and author information, the former would also be enough to delete the image. The source was specified as "wikimedia commons", presumably c:File:Teemo.JPG, but I think we'll need something more specific. If the image is freely licensed then it'd make more sense to undelete the Commons version though. Also your link is talking about works displayed on a "long term basis", the subject of the image is part of the Taiwan Lantern Festival which only lasts a week or two.     @Muboshgu: Thanks for the ping. The articles were created by a manipulative undisclosed paid editor who was originally blocked 2.5 years ago: Ukpong1. The deletion was necessary as a deterrent against abuse and as such they should not be restored under any circumstances. I make no judgement on whether the subjects are notable or not, and there is nothing to prevent Santac311 (or anyone else) from restarting the articles from scratch.
