Vikas Kumar "Vicky" Uppal (1 January 1986 – 30 June 2007) was a native and resident of India, said to be India's tallest man until his death on 30 June 2007 when he died during a failed brain tumor operation in Delhi, India.
On 12 January 2004 The Tribune reported him to be 2.51 m (8 ft 3 in) tall and still growing, being in his late teens.[1]
Vikas was from the Rohtak district in the Indian state of Haryana. He was photographed for The Hindu [2][3] on 25 September 2006 at a rally held by the Indian National Lok Dal. He was thought to be 2.67 m (8 ft 9 in) tall; however, have been reported otherwise [4] to be an unconfirmed 2.46 m (8 ft 1 in) tall, and as was born in 1986 was most likely that he could grow no further.
