Bengaluru

Hi! I noticed that you reverted my editions in the Bengaluru article about the date of formation of Karnataka. In the Karnataka Wikipedia article it is given the date of formation of Mysore state which was renamed as Karnataka in the year as I had edited, so can we use a Wikipedia article as a citation? Or was my edit disallowed since it's the date of the renaming of the state and not the formation of the state when in the context it was about the date of formation? Hi Master Sam 77, the context of the sentence here refers to state formation. It speaks of the period before 1956 when Bengaluru was the capital of the Mysore state and the period after 1956 when it remained the capital of the unified State of Mysore. The 'unified state of Mysore' is appropriately referred to as Karnataka since it has since been renamed. Therefore 1956 is the correct in that context.

Also, Wikipedia articles cannot be used as citations. Please go through WP:CITE and WP:WINRS Prolix 💬 17:06, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

Yep, and this is going to be my 200th edit!! A celebration now :D and I'll be going on a Wikibreak for a couple of months, I'm an Indian and you might be aware of the exams JEE and NEET and the magnitude of competitivenss in it and so I'll have to change my focus towards these exams. History images

Regarding Karnataka, the images in the History section are excessive because there are far too many of them given the length of the section. On my screen they stretch down into Geography, and Geography's only image has been pushed into subdivisions. This is a MOS:IMAGELOCATION concern. There are sandwiching issues elsewhere in the article, but in History the number of images is actually disrupting the article formatting. CMD (talk) 02:53, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi Chipmunkdavis, I understand that there are issues with accommodating the number of images in that section as it is now. Is there no way to fix this other than removing those images? A small gallery section right below the text could work. Many articles have a history section first with many important images but displaying them is difficult due to the infobox, a gallery seems to be the best solution as of now. Need help

Hi Prolix, I need your assistance in the follwoing AfD discussions.

1. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rebel Foods
2. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Zydus Wellness

Also, I need a second opinion on these following company pages from India. Most of them are low in content, created via AfC route which in turn got quickly approved by "New Page Patrollers". Which is very surprising? Also, the pages which are not even marked stubs.

6. Varun Beverages
7. Relaxo
8. Natco Pharma

All created by a single User ID (history included) which is heavily dependent on stock market's reporting. Most of the pages lack WP:SIGCOV. What made me curious is... to hide his/her track, the creator is nominating good number of articles in AfD and at the same time... he is creating new pages (for other companies). Hi Hatchens, I've added my comments at the AfD's you linked. Thanks for bringing these to my attention! Regarding the articles you linked many of them are quite notable as far as my knowledge goes, but they're just really poorly written. Maybe a few maintenance templates can be added for now? I've added {{cleanup-PR}} to all of these articles, they may need more descriptive maintenance templates as well. If no one improves the following articles they should be considered for deletion:

• Dixon Technologies
• Subex
• Stovekraft
• Natco Pharma
• Laurus Labs

Hatchens, thanks for letting me know. I won't be re-adding the maintenance template for Dixon Technologies since it seems to have been improved slightly and doesn't have the same issues as the other articles I had initially put the templates on.

As for the rest of the articles, I've restored the template since they've seen no improvement to their content whatsoever.

With regards to the Zydus Wellness AfD, I suppose not much can be done about the outcome. The article has been improved somewhat though. Prolix 💬 14:14, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Hello Saw that you reverted one of my edits on the Page BEML Limited and labelled the change with RedWarn Tag. Had only added a image with Railway coach allotted to Central Railways, India which was built by BEML. Placeholder title

Then why don't you delete the content given in services of indian railways to pakistan? Since all the train services to pakistan are suspended due to terrorist activity. The same situation is happened to sri lanka but as a natural disaster. If you are trying to delete the past train services of indian railways, then you should have to delete the content present in services to pakistan but you are not doing this? Raybellrich, there's a difference between the existence of an actual rail line that has been suspended vs. one that does not exist. The 'rail line' you mentioned in your edit is merely a ferry service, there never has been a rail connection between the two countries. Prolix 💬 14:27, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

It comes under the topic of services only and not as a railway line my friend. So my edit on indian railways is correct and more over, It is a combined service of a train as well as ferry ship. If you are searching for railway tracks in future there is a plan to construct a railway bridge along ram sethu bridge which is being planned by the Indian and sri lankan government. VKG1985, it isn't. The issue here is not with citations but instead with notability. I am inclined to remove the entire section about original series as per WP:NOTTVGUIDE. I am reverting your edit as of now, if you wish to re-add certain series do it only after a serious consideration of their notability. You may also consider removing certain older non-notable programs as well. As it stands now, I would really like to remove the entire section subject to discussion of course. VKG1985, you're welcome, thanks for making the styling changes, they were definitely necessary. The issue with adding a list of shows is that they're not very relevant to the reader, they only serve to lengthen the article and unnecessarily increase its size. Averaging 150-170 edits per day this month, I check many more pages obviously. Going through the initial backlog in the watchlist takes about 3 hours that's when I do most of the edits, after which it is refresh, check and wait .
