The Mughal Museum is a museum planned to be built in the city of Agra, India.[1][2][3]
Construction
The museum is currently under construction.[4][5][6][7]
Controversies
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath renamed Mughal museum's name after Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji. The reason given by the CM is that Mughals can't be the heroes of Indians. The opposition parties have criticized the decision by pointing out the CM's renaming spree during his tenure.[8] Shivaji did not having any significant association with Agra except for his imprisonment and subsequent daring escape from Agra.[9] Hence the critics have accused the CM for trying to change history.[10]
