Possible copyright violation
All of the content on this page seems to be very similar to that found at http://www.history.navy.mil/danfs/a1/aaron_ward-ii.htm. Is this a copyright violation on our part, their part, or did the same author write both pages? --Danaman5 19:23, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- This article is basically taken from what is known as the DANFS or The Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships, which is essentially a log and ship history created by the US Navy. Since the Navy is a branch of the United States government, all of its works are in the public domain and hence not under copyright. You can also check out Template:PD-USGov-Military-Navy as this is the common template used for tagging navy images. Eventhough that template is for images the same rights apply. This is why these articles also have Template:DANFS included in them as well. -- malo (tlk) (cntrbtns) 20:51, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification, I didn't know that. --Danaman5 03:34, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
