Elia Caprile (born 25 August 2001) is an Italian footballer who plays for Serie C side Aurora Pro Patria on loan from Premier League club Leeds United as a goalkeeper. His only previous club is Italian side Chievo Verona.

Career

Chievo Verona

Born in Verona,[2] he progressed through the youth ranks at his hometown club Chievo Verona and played for the club's under-17 and under-19 sides before being promoted to the reserve team. Without making a senior appearance for the club, Caprile was named on the bench in three competitions; Serie A, Serie B and Coppa Italia.[3]

Leeds United

Caprile joined English club Leeds United for an undisclosed fee on 21 January 2020 making him the Yorkshire club's first signing of the transfer window.[4] He featured three times for the club's under-23 side before the curtailment of the season, conceding just four goals.[5][6][7]

Aurora Pro Patria 1919 (loan)

Caprile joined Aurora Pro Patria on loan for the 2021/22 campaign in the summer of 2021 for an undisclosed loan fee.[8]

International career

Caprile has earned a solitary cap for Italy's Under-18 side against France Under-18s in February 2019. After Caprile's entrance at half-time, his side gave up three goals in a 3-0 defeat.[9]
