Sivakasi Municipal corporation is the civic body governing city of Sivakasi in Indian state of Tamilnadu. Municipal Corporation mechanism in India was introduced during British Rule with formation of municipal corporation in Madras (Chennai) in 1688, later followed by municipal corporations in Bombay (Mumbai) and Calcutta (Kolkata) by 1762.[1] Sivakasi Municipal Corporation is headed by Mayor of city and governed by Commissioner.

History and Administration

Sivakasi Municipal Corporation in Tiruvallur district was formed in year 2019 and is one of the 21 municipal corporations in Tamilnadu[2][3]. The place is driven industrially with location of many key industries and spiritually through many important spiritual places including Hridayaleeswarar temple, Pachaiyamman temple and Tiruverkadu Karumariamman Koil.
