Sachin Nag

Sachin Nag was one of the ace Swimmers of Indian History, He was the First Person to grab a gold medal in Swimming(Free style 100m) in First ever Asian Games held at New-Delhi in 1951. After Winning the Medal, He Joined the Calcutta Club, Where he started as a Swimming Trainer. The First Indian woman to cross English Channel,Aarti Saha, was spotted and trained by him. Among others were Nafeesa Ali who was his Student. He also worked in a Bengali Movie named Foni. He passed out in the Late Eigties of the 20th Century. Now there is also a Block after his name at Asiad Village in New-Delhi. At Present his won medal (Asian Games 1951) is in Patiala, Punjab at National Sports Museum.


About Family

Her Wife was a good player of Badminton and talented in Academics as well as in Sports. She had amazing Calligraphic Skills. She was Principal of the same school she passed out from.

He resided in Howrah and had four sons and two daughters(Maina and Shally). His sons' names are

Mr.Ashok Nag resides in Kolkata now a days and Mr.Amitabh Nag lives in Bhubneshwara, Mr.Goutam Nag reside in Punjab now a days with his wife Mrs.Protiva Nag and two sons Nilanjan and Sunil. The Elder one i.e. Nilanjan is my classmate and one of my Best Friends, As he told me about his Grandpa and motivated me to revive the pages of History.
