A broadcast journalist previously for ABS-CBN, he previously presented news for Radyo Patrol Balita Alas-Siyete alongside Noli de Castro, and on his own program Failon Ngayon sa TeleRadyo. He also presented Hoy Gising!, the nightly news program TV Patrol from 2004 to 2020, and his own investigative program Failon Ngayon on television.

Personal life
On March 30, 2021, Failon announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and is asymptomatic. After a co-worker also tested positive on the evening of March 28 and identified him as a close contact, he self-isolated immediately and had himself tested on the morning of March 29.[4][5] Failon went into home quarantine and later recovered from the disease.[6]
