Kenmore State High School is a secondary education institution in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, facilitating close to 1600 students from grades 8 through to 12, bordering the school's maximum student capacity. The school was opened in 1972 and has been expanding since. [1]

Kenmore State High School is situated on 11.2 hectares along Moggill Creek in the Brisbane Central & West District. [2]

Curriculum

Kenmore High offers a broad curriculum, catering to students with all kinds of academic passions and pursuits, as well as a small range of Vocational Education Subjects. It annually ranks as one of the top state high schools in Queensland in terms of OP scores.

The school offers world class education in Science, Graphic Design & Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Mathematics, Humanities and IT Programs, Kenmore high also has a high reputation in the community for its music and arts focus

Global and Community Citizenship

Kenmore offers many community service opportunities, the most notable of which is the Kenmore State High School Leos Club. Currently, several students are proposing the establishment of an Interact Club at the school. There is an Amnesty International student group that operates from the high school.

Many students also participate annually in Clean Up Australia Day and other environmental activities.

World Class Accreditation

Kenmore State High School was officially awarded World Class Accreditation on Monday the 13th of March, 2006[3] by the Council of International Schools (Australia). [4]

Student body

The student body is made up of many different groups of young people, of many different social, economic and cultural backgrounds. Kenmore State High School has a developed International Student program. For many students, English is their second language, and the ESL Program offerered at Kenmore High is very well developed.
