DWIC(93.3 FM) was a radio station owned and operated by Bombo Radyo Philippines through its licensee Newsounds Broadcasting Network, Inc. It was formerly known as Star FM from its inception on June 29, 1992 to March 31, 2004, when it went off air due to financial losses.[1] The frequency is currently owned by ACWS-United Broadcasting Network.[2]

History

The station was established on June 29, 1992, as 93.3 WIC. it began carrying a Top 40 format with the slogan "The Rhythm of the City". In less than a year, 93.3 WIC was ranked by the Radio Research Council as the most listened station in the Tuguegarao. On April 22, 1994, to provide a more solid identity for all of Bombo Radyo's FM stations, DWIC was re-launched as 93.3 Star FM until it when off air on March 31, 2004.
