Why "king of Saxony"?
He reigned over a great part of East Francia. His territory was more than Saxony, it included also Francia (todays Franconia and Hassia) and great parts of Lothringia (todays Rheinland and Palatinate). So why only "king of Saxony"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ManfredV (talk • contribs) 21:25, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
And again my question: why only "king of Saxony"? Whas this his official title?

Louis the Younger → Louis of Saxony – There are several other monarchs called "Louis the Younger", which isn't a distinctive name for itself. The epithet only makes sense in Louis' own times, so it would make more sense to refer to him based on the territory he inherited (just like Carloman of Bavaria). Tintero21 (talk) 21:49, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. This is the name by which he is overwhelmingly known today. Just as "Carloman of Bavaria" is the name by which his brother is known. I've never seen him referred to as "Louis of Saxony". What other "Louis the Younger" do you have in mind? Walrasiad (talk) 08:40, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. "Louis the Younger" may not seem distinctive, but it is. Srnec (talk) 21:34, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
