Chandra Maharjan (Template:Lang-ne) is a Politician, Businemssman and a active Social Worker. He is a member of 2nd Nepalese Constituent Assembly. He won Lalitpur–2 seat in 2013 Nepalese Constituent Assembly election from Nepali Congress.[1][2][3] He owns several businesses like Brick, Hospital, Real Estates, L.P.G. Gas Refilling Plant etc. He is a pioneer of V.S.B.K. Brick in Nepal.

Personal life

Chandra Maharjan was born on 16 November 1954 in Subahal, Lalitpur-8 to Chandra Man Maharjan and Buddhi Maya Maharjan. He has two sons and three daughters. He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science. He is a businessman,social worker and a politician. He is currently a vice-president of Nepali Congress Bagmati Province. He is a former President of Jyapu Samaj, Yala, General secretary of Ganeshman Singh Study Foundation and founder member of Rotary Club.[3]

Political career

He is a Elected Vice President of Bagmati Province,Nepali Congress under 1st Provincial Election of Bagmati Province in 14th General Convention. He was a member of 2nd Nepalese Constituent Assembly. He won Lalitpur–2 seat in 2013 Nepalese Constituent Assembly election from Nepali Congress. He was also Elected as President of Lalitpur district during 11th General Assembly of Lalitpur district in 2060 and was also elected as Deputy Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City in 1992. [3]

Social Life

Chandra Maharjan has served as a President of Jyapu Samaj, Lalitpur from 2075-2078. While being the President of Jyapu Samaj, Yala he actively contributed in a Guthi Andolan led by various social organization to oppose the controversial Guthi Bill. It is considered as the biggest protest since 2006 People's Movement in Nepal. He also Inaugurated Jestha Nagarik Ananda Niketan in his leadership for the elederly people. He is also the Founder Member of Rotary Club, Yala.
