National Space Day is decided to celebrate in India on August 23 each year to mark the significant achievement of Chandrayan-3's successful landing on the Moon.

History

On August 23, 2023, India achieved a significant milestone as the Chandrayaan-3 successfully executed a soft landing on the moon. Recognizing this stellar achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proclaimed August 23rd[2]as "National Space Day"[3]in India.
