History
The family was established in 1963, to hold the type genus of Glomosporium.[1]
The family contained 4 genera (Glomosporium Kochman, 1939, Poikilosporium, Sorosporium F.Rudolphi, 1829 and Thecaphora Fingerh.) and about 105 species.[4] Until being revised to just 1 genus Thecaphora with about 61 species.[3]
Glomosporium, a former genus of fungi, formerly placed in the family Glomosporiaceae.[4] The genus was first described by Kochman in 1939, with the type species of Glomosporium leptideum.[5] The genus was later absorbed into the genus Thecaphora.[6]
