Unionism in Ireland has a different meaning than in the US

If there are no objections within the next 2 months I will make an edit in the Person Infobox at the beginning of the Entry.

The sentence requiring an Edit reads: "Known for Republicanism and Unionism". The term Unionism needs further clarification. In Ireland Unionists are supporters of the Act of Union, which changed the nature of the relationship between Britain and Ireland. The subject of the wikipedia article by playing such a prominent role in activities against British rule in Ireland was opposed to the Act of Union.

The simple insertion of the word Trade before the problematic word Unionism will make things clearer. Cograng (talk) 14:28, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
