TALI Golergant (born 26, November 2000[1]), known mononymously as TALI, is a Luxembourgish singer, songwriter, composer, actress and vocal coach. She is set to represent Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song "Fighter".[3]

Early and personal life

TALI is Luxemburgish, she was born in Israel to a Peruvian Jewish father and an Israeli mother. Following her father's work, she moved with her family across Chile, and Argentina, until finally settling in Luxembourg, in which she considers home.[2][4] She began singing and playing the piano at the age of 7, she began acting in theatre at the age of 11, and began songwriting and composing at the age of 16.[5] She was educated at the International School of Luxembourg, and graduated at 2019. She moved to New York City to study musical theatre at Marymount Manhattan College,[6] which she graduated in May 2023. She has been moving back and forth between New York and Luxembourg.[7]

TALI is fluent in English, Spanish, Hebrew and French, and is able to communicate in German.[8][9]

TALI plays the piano, the guitar and the Ukulele.

Career

TALI wrote her debut single at the age of 16, which was published in 2020, followed by her debut EP Lose You, which was released in 2021. Along with her own band, she toured local New York venues including Rockwood Music Hall, Mercury Lounge, Arlene's Grocery, and Delancey Street. In addition, TALI pursued a career as a stage actress, portraying Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Sue Snell in Carrie, and Éponine in Les Misérables, among others; she has also starred in the independent short film Agua.[7][10][11]

In December 2023, TALI was revealed as one of the eight finalists of the Luxembourg Song Contest, the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.[12] It was later revealed on 9 January 2024 that she would perform the song "Fighter".[13] She went on to win the selection, earning the right to represent the country at the contest.[11] She is the first Luxembourgish Eurovision contestant since 1993.

Artistry

TALI describes her music as a blend of pop, indie and R&B. She cites Lizzy McAlpine, Sara Bareilles and Lady Gaga among her influences.[10]
