"Given Up"
Song

"Given Up" is the second single from Linkin Park's third studio album Minutes to Midnight that is scheduled to release August 6, 2007.[1]

"Given Up", along with, "What I've Done" and "No More Sorrow" made their live debut on April 28, 2007 in Berlin, Germany. Live performances of these three songs at the AOL sessions were released on AOL on May 5, 2007. They also play in the background on the band's official website.[2]

The song is one of the heavier songs on the album, and is notable for lead singer, Chester Bennington, screaming for approximately 17 consecutive seconds near the end of the track. The song also has a distinct jingle sound during the verses, which the band revealed, in the booklet of the album, was created by shaking guitarist Brad Delson's car keys.

It is also the first song by Linkin Park to contain an expletive.

Chart performance

Although the single has not yet been released, it has already charted on Billboard's Hot 100 and Pop 100 charts, at numbers 99 and 78 respectively. In addition the song has already been getting adds to modern rock stations.
