Andriy Leonidovych Husin (born on December 11, 1972 in Kyiv, Ukraine) is a professional Ukrainian football player for the Russian football club Krylya Sovetov Samara. Husin also frequently appeared as a member of the Ukrainian national football team, and is one of Ukraine's most capped players ever. Husin was a member of Ukraine's 2006 World Cup Squad, and played several games in the 2006 World Cup. He was an instrumental part of the Dynamo Kyiv squad which reached the semi final of the UEFA Champions League 1998-99 season. After Ukraine's qualification to the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Andriy Husin left Dynamo Kyiv to captain Russian side FC Krylya Sovetov Samara, stating that he wanted to focus on his national team instead of club football [1]. Following the 2006 World Cup, Husin announced his retirement from international football, ending a successful 13 year international career [2]. When announcing his international retirement he praised Ukraine's achievement of reaching the quarter-finals in their first appearance in the tournament, in which he played an instrumental role for the Ukrainian team.
On August 15 2006, following lenghtly conversations with his teammates, Andriy Husin announced his decision to remain in the Ukrainian team for the time being [3].
On June 8, 2007, Husin retired from Krylya Sovetov and joined the Saturn Ramenskoe coaching staff.
