The Battle of Ruxukou (濡須口之戰) also known as the Battle of Ruxu (濡須之戰) was fought between the warlords Sun Quan and Cao Cao in 217, during the Three Kingdoms period in China. The battle was part of Sun Quan's northern expeditions, and was a result of the second battle of Hefei in 215 A.D.
Battle
Zhang Liao requested reinforcements, and Cao Cao himself came to aid him from Hanzhong. During the battle Sun Quan was surrounded, but evaded capture, because of Zhou Tai's efforts. Dong Xi commanded the "five-storied ship" stationed at the mouth of Ruxu, but it sank and he went down with it. Sun Quan's forces saw the momentum shift with Gan Ning's night raids, but Wei was still able to win. Sun Quan gave up on his expedition. NOTE: This battle takes place after the battle of Hefei, and isn't a smaller battle inside the battle of Hefei.
Modern references
In Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends there is a stage dedicated to this battle. In earlier versions of the game, this battle is merged with the battle of Hefei.
