Lynchburg Christian Academy was founded by Dr. Jerry Falwell in 1967 and was developed as a ministry of Thomas Road Baptist Church. LCA is a recognized education facility from the Commonwealth of Virginia, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Association of Christian Schools International.

LCA's home for the past 38 years was on the Thomas Road Baptist Church location but has been moved just off the Liberty University Campus, and has been renamed Liberty Christian Academy. This new campus has state of the art equipment to keep up with the times and changes of the world. LCA students now have easier access to the University campus facilities such as the library and religion hall and many other facilities for those hard assignments that need a more focused location of study. The moving of LCA happened to fulfill the dream of Dr. Falwell to provide continual Christian education from pre-school all the way to Christian graduates. There are now over 1600 people in the school.
