Current Transformer : The transformer is a device that is used to "transform" (meaning convert one form to another), Electric Power from one form to another. The two basic interoperable variables in the Electric Power are Voltage and Current. Current Transformer is a special kind of Transformer- an Instrument transformer. It is used primarily to act as a transducer in the Electric Power circuit. It acts as a interface that relays the actual current flowing into the circuit to the metering system or protection device.
